Situated in the mesmerizing Kumaon Himalayas, Pindari Glacier trek is one of the most accessible glacier treks, includes several points, that attracts amateur and experiences at the same time.
Pindari Glacier trek, through fascinating rhododendron forests that lined with colourful flowers, flora and exotic fauna will take you entirely in a different world.
Pindari glacier is about 332 KM from Delhi and took us 7-8 hours to reach Kathgodam and April to November is the Best Season to visit.
So we planned our Pindari Glacier trek in October. You can choose a tent or guest houses for stay, but tent house will give you unforgettable memories.

Kathgodam to Kahrkia: Approximately it is a 210 km drive, and on the way, you will find so many small Dhaba and food corner, to have your lunch or breakfast. The trip from Kathgodham to Kahrkia is a scenic one that glued to the greenery which surrounds on this route. Withdraw the cash at Kapkot, s there is no ATM in the Kharkia.
After having our breakfast, we left for Khati. On the way, we saw a
blend of both rhododendrons and oak trees which add a different charm to the environment. Khati is known for its ideal spot for the trekkers and backpackers
Today because we have to walk, approximately 13 km, so we ate a heavy breakfast. The weather here is unpredictable, so it is important to start the day early.
On this trail, we had passed across a stream. Here Both the rivers, Pindari and Kafni meet at a point where the village located.
Today we had to walk a short distance (5 KM) than yesterday. After having a hot cup of tea and breakfast, we are now ready to be heading to Phurkia through some of the most beautiful rhododendron forests which a treat to our eyes. We were amazed by seeing Mt. Nanda Khat and Nanda Devi right in front of us. As we reached the Phurkia campsite, where our tents get pitched, and we served with hot tea and some snacks.
Phurkia to Zero Point (Pindari Glacier) and return to Phurkia: The weather at the Pindari Glacier fluctuate, so our guide has instructed us to keep a note of the time. Walk toward the Pindari Glacier has thrilled us with fullest. At this point, we can see the view of Mt. Nandakhat. Patches of snow which can be slippery some times, so we need to stay alert.
We walked through a tricky passage while proceeding towards the valley, after climbing the ridge, we get the Day 07- Khati to Kharkia and back to Kathgodam: We planned our day accordingly so that we can reach Kathgodam by evening.
Today we have to be prepaid for the longest trekking, and have to walk around 18 km. After our morning breakfast, we were ready for 7-8 long trek.
