Located in Alwar Rajasthan- Neemrana Fort Palace is absolutely the finest nearby weekend escape from Delhi. Whether it is a romantic getaway, a family trip, or a solo trip, The Neemrana Fort suits all parameters.
As the pleasant winter is on the door, we planned to welcome this beautiful weather by visiting an ancient historical place. And nothing could be better than this beautiful place which is situated 122 km from Delhi on the Delhi-Jaipur highway in Behror tehsil, that includes a vibrant site for magical weekend getaways, feasts, and celebrations, and Overnight stay at hotels.
Now, starting from the beginning.
We left Delhi at 9.30 AM.
And even after a 55 minutes drive, we were still on the highway. However, it has encountered several beautiful things, and we have posed with a few of them.
An hour and a half later, we were quite close to Neemrana Fort as the journey has taken almost two and a half hours to reach via the Delhi-Jaipur highway. You can trust Google Maps, as 98% of our journey depended on that. After that, we started negotiating narrow lanes and managed to see this sign.
As we reached nearby the fort, we started witnessing hills on either side of the road. Armed with a bag of chips, we drove on towards the fort.
Do not just consider Neemrana Fort Palace as a hotel; it is one of the most pleasant holiday destinations among all the places to visit near Delhi.
And there stood the Neemrana Fort Palace, in all its ancient glory and pride.
After parking the car, we rushed towards the hotel reception for our grand entrance.
The rooms of the hotel are so delicate, and we even get our own royal Rajasthani chair. Sitting on that chair will definitely give a feeling of royalty. Our room was so beautiful and amazing.
When we stepped out of our room, what was waiting for us was absolutely Breathtaking! To be honest, it made me wonder why I haven’t actually made the journey earlier.
We’d missed lunch, but luckily they served us snacks.

Well!! Neemrana is famous for its fort, but close to it lies the palatial Baori which is amongst the best of its kind in India. It is situated a few miles off the Delhi-Jaipur highway. Though it is the broadest and deepest stepwell in India, sadly the beholder will fail to resist the magnificence of this structure. However, it may have been abandoned, but it still retains its erstwhile charm – there is still much scope for it to regain its former charisma provided the authorities take charge of its restoration soon.
However, shopaholics can find a treat here as the Neemrana shop displays a great collection of relics and other Rajasthani handloom stuff.
Nearby the fort, you can find Sariska National Park, which is around 124 km from the Neemrana fort. This well-reserved forest has tigers. A captivating View of the surrounding Aravalli hills makes this place more alluring and charming. Though here, you can find lions, leopards, royal Bengal tigers, antelopes, hyenas, crocodiles, and many more, we just spotted crocodiles, deer, and Hyena.
